Charisma Sweet Peas for Allsorts by Brenda

$

Good morning, today I am sharing my Allsorts challenge creation following our theme this week of 'How Does your Garden Grow'.

The newly released Tattered Lace Summer Charisma collection was made for the theme and is probably my favourite TL collection at the moment and here I have used the Sweet Pea from the CD Rom along with the coordinating die.

My starting point was to mask the top and bottom of the reverse side of a piece of centura pearl card, add a circle mask for the sun and then create clouds and hills using another mask made from ripped paper, you can buy them ready made but it's simple enough to make your own. I also stamped on some birds to the sky line and deliberately went slightly off the page.

Next I printed out the TL Charisma Sweet Pea in four different colours and cut out using the die, decoupaged some of the leaves.......the decopage elements all print and cut out with the main flower so all the guess work is done for you. When the silicone was dry I placed them over the background and matted onto some green cardstock and then the card base which is an A5 (half A4).

I hope you all have a lovely weekend with some sunshine.

Happy Sunday all, I hope you are having a good weekend.

Today's card from me is also my DT piece over at Penny Black and More challenge and features not only one of my favourite quotes but also the gorgeous Kirsty and Sophie Trio sets........if you don't have any of these yet check out the Weekender on Create and Craft TV, there's a great deal on them.

I started with a 6x6 piece of cream cardstock and machine stitched a decorative border and them stamped my Penny Black Dance quote using black archival ink.

Next I sprayed a piece of cardstock with turquoise Dylusions and used to cut out six Kirsty flowers using the largest die. I stamped three with the TL Trio stamp set. embossed them with the matching folder and layered them up to make three flowers. The leaves are also coloured with Dylusions and cut out and embossed then all arranged onto the stitched base layer. Finally a nice flourishy organza bow using EA ribbons and bow maker.

If you would like to join in over at Penny Black and More we would love to see you and you could use your Tattered Lace dies as I have done along with any make of stamp.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Reindeer by Brenda

At last we have some lovely sunny weather here in the UK and I am making Christmas cards!

But with such a fun TL reindeer I am not complaining and there are lots more lovely dies like him coming up on the four day deal starting on Create and Craft today.

I cut the TL reindeer twice, one in brown pearl cardstock and again in some glittery card so he could have a sparkly nose and antlers. He fits really nicely onto the middle element of the TL centre stepper card which I matted with brown and G45 blue papers.

The Holly on the two side panels is made from TL Holly Trio set with some little gems for berries and some brown grosgrain ribbon adn bows made on the EA bow maker.

Many thanks for popping in today.

Polar Bear shutter card by Brenda

Are you all ready for Christmas in July ?

Today's card has two of the new TL Christmas 2015 dies. The base card is made with TL shutter card cut on dark blue pear cardstock and matted and layers with coordinating PD's.

The Polar Bear really is very sweet and has been cut from white glitter card, the little snowflakes cut out of the design but I set them aside and later added to the starry dark blue panel at the centre bottom of the card. I cut TL Santa Clause is Coming to Town from the same glitter card and placed it at an angle on the card.

And to finish I  made a silver bow on the EA bow maker and tied it with some little silver bells.

Many thanks for popping in today.

Strawberries and Cream for Allsorts by Brenda

Happy Saturday to you all.

Today I am sharing my Allsorts challenge DT piece which I made using the TL Trio's. Our theme this week is Strawberries and Cream, my red TL Poppies are the strawberries and the white in the ribbon my cream.

The base heart is one I picked up for £1.00 at Hobbycraft a while ago and knew it would come in useful before long. I cut the largest flower from TL Kirsty Trio six times, embossed and spritzed with red Dylusions and pearl mica spray. When dry which only takes a few moments I stamped the centers with one of the stamps from TL Trio stamp set and then added a few drops of glossy accents and black micro beads. Using TL Sophie Trio set I cut and embossed the leaves using coordinations which I lightly sanded to bring out the pattern of the embossing.

The banner is also coordinations and the sentiment from TL Get Started set and I added a gingham bow at the top.

If you would like to enter the challenge over at Allsorts we would love to see you.

With Love

A quick easy make to share, thanks to the 3Diemensions Handbag die, but I think an effective one!

I cut the 3D handbag (3D02) from pearlescent card stock and then embossed with the Quilted Cushion embossing folder (EF039).  I positioned the die cut so the handles of the bag would not be embossed.  If you do choose to emboss the handbag die cut out, a little tip choose a decent weight card stock because the additional embossing can weaken the score lines made by the die, guess who choose 200gsm card stock first off and discovered the score lines tearing!! Your other option is to reduce the pressure applied when running through your embossing machine, the Crossover machine allows you to adjust the rollers. I applied the flat back pearls to the cross sections before gluing the handbag together and then added a tag from the Bon Voyage die set (D343) and decorated With Love from the Getting Started die set (D860).

Charisma Pansies and Sweet Peas by Brenda

As soon as I saw the TL Charisma Sweet Pea I could envisage them on a TL Stepper Card and have combined them with TL Charisma Pansies as the colors from all the different flowers and CD Roms blend with one another perfectly.

It's actually a fairly simple card to make as the TL stepper dies remove all the guesswork. After deciding on my colours I embossed the top layers with TL all over flourish and lightly inked them with DI dusky concord. Next I printed out the Pansies and Sweet Peas, cut out with the matching dies and decoupaged before fixing onto the base stepper card.

Finally I added some ribbon and a bow made on the EA bow maker.

If you love your flowers as much as I do and want to make cards that really stand out then you definitely need the Charisma collection, I promise you will have so much fun using it.

You make me Happy

At first I’ve cut and fold white cardstock to create a 15cm x 15cm square card. After I’ve cut a 14cm x 14cm square from backing paper and mat onto the card. Cut the Tattered lace Essential Square out of white cardstock and mat onto the card with 3D foam tape.

In the next step I’ve cut the floral watering from four different coloured cardstock. I’ve chosen a light grey and red coloured cardstock for the can and removed the inner out cuts from the light grey coloured die cut and replaced them with the red coloured cuts. After I’ve mat the floral watering can onto the third paper cut and sprayed the top with adhesive, sprinkled with glitter.

The flowers are cut from three different coloured cardstock and glued onto the can. After I’ve mat the watering can onto the front of the card with 3D foam tape. In the next step I’ve cut the Kaleidoscope flower out of backing paper and mat onto the card.

Cherished Memories for Allsorts by Brenda

I hope you are all ready for the weekend.

My share today is a card that I think would work well as an Anniversary card and the colours could even be changed for special occasions such as silver, ruby and gold. It is also my Allsorts DT piece where this week our theme is Add a Banner.

I think the TL Butterfly folder is my favourite of the interchangeable ones and for this card I embossed a piece of cream linen card as the base and matted it onto some dark brown. I used a small piece of the same cream card and embossed just the sentiment and trimmed to form the focal element of my card.

The banner is cut from G45 papers and fixed in place on the base layers and then a border across the centre using TL Chantilly Swag along with some decorative cord. Next I fixed the matted and layered sentiment panel in place and a spray of roses.................when buying ready made flowers I tend to get white or cream ones and then colour up with distress inks, that way everything matches. Finally I added some ivy using TL Large Ivy and some bronze pearls.

Whatever you have planned I hope you have a good weekend.

Panorama Christmas Card by Amanda ***VIDEO***

Hiya, today I have a beautiful and elegant Tattered Lace Christmas Panorama Card for you.
I made use of absolutely loads of dies including the Panorama Die Set as I wanted to make a dimensional Christmas Scene Card.

So I started out by making a Panorama Card Base and I thought that it would be useful to do a separate video on how to construct your Panorama Card:-

Now I referenced in the video that it's possible to alter the sizing of your Panorama Card, and I was kindly supplied by Tattered Lace the image that was used in their magazine explaining exactly how to make the alterations for different sizes of Panorama Card: –

So having made my Panorama Card Base, I cut out the rest of my dies and then glittered them all up with sparkling crystal glitter. It looked stunningly snowy! Once everything was glittered I began to construct the layers of my Panorama Card. I then went to stick my front frame on, however it was at this point I realised I had put the die cut elements on my front frame wrongly so that the sides of my frame became the top and bottom! Now this only mattered because what should have been the sides were wider than the top & bottom and therefore hid the inside part of my concertina. So in order to correct this I cut two of my Spring Edge Die, glittered them up, reversing one of them so that they would be mirror imaged on my card and stuck them in my card. In the end I think it was a happy accident because I think it made it look stunning :-) So that was it, my Tattered Lace Christmas Panorama Card : –

Well I hope you enjoyed making this card with me, and I hope you enjoyed the video, and finally I hope you found the video on how to construct the Tattered Lace Panorama Card useful. But for now hugs and have a great craft day :-)

Bow widow tutorial by Brenda

Hello crafty friends.

Today I am sharing a card made with the new TL Window Die, it has so many possibilities and I am really enjoying creating with it. It's quite a large die at approx 21cm x 15cm (8.5" x 6") and it might help if I do a step by step to creating the card and base.

1) Start with a sheet of 350gsm linen A3 cardstock and down to 37 cm wide and 27cm high.

2) Using a score board and tool score twice either side at 4cm intervals, fold the first score line to a valley fold and the second to a mountain fold, that then gives you the front section of your card.

3) Lay the window die centrally on the reverse of the scored card and lightly mark round the die with a pencil and cut an aperture slightly smaller than the pencil markings.

4) Cut the window die from your chosen card, you can fix acetate to the reverse of the windows at this stage. Then fix over the front of the aperture.

4) Cut a piece of card for the reverse of the card, if you want the card to lay flat then this will need to be 29 cm wide, but if you want to form a slight bow widow shape at the front as I have done then cut it slightly smaller.

5) Decorate the inner side of the reverse piece of card, I have used TL Charisma Sweet Peas and also created some sky and background with Pan Pastles. I also added some branches using TL Leaf Branches and stamped some birds.

6) Fix the back panel to the card front and at this point you can then add further decoration around the window, I have used TL Large Ivy and some Sweet Peas flower heads.

If you have any question please do ask away.

Autumn by Lydia

Good morning Crafters,

Today I have an autumn and very sunny looking card for you.

First I’ve cut and folded a dark red card stock to a square card and with
the Essential square dies I cut the biggest die from orange cardstock and glue
this piece with 3D foam tape on the dark red basic card.

From the same red colour cardstock I cut a 8x8cm square and glue this
into the essential square. After I’ve cut a square from yellow cardstock and
embossed the dut with the dot Crosshatch Embossing folder. In the next step,
I’ve cut the embossed sheet into 4 squares and glued them onto the card.

Then I’ve used the smallest die and cut a frame form yellow cardstock and
glue the die cut onto a transparencies foil and cut around the edges. After
I’ve glued sequins, pearls and glitter onto the transparencies foil
and let it dry.

In the next step I’ve mat the foil in the middle of the card. I’ve used white
cardstock and cut different leaves, Paradise Ferns and Foliage. After I’ve
coloured the die cuts with different PanPastel pens and mat onto
the card as shown.

For the sun, I’ve used the Eleganza Bow and cut all pieces of the bow
away and used it for the sun. Colour the gnome and mat him onto
the card with 3D foam tape.

I hope I inspired you with my card.

Hugs

Christmas wreath by Brenda

Good morning to you all, today I have a Christmas wreath........I know yet another you all say, but I just had to make one using the gorgeous new TL Christmas Trio's which I am still thoroughly enjoying playing with.

For the base I used a circular rattan wreath from Hobbycraft, it's about 20cm at the widest parts. Next I cut out in both pink and white pearlescent paper quite a number of TL Christmas Rose Trios using all three sizes in the pack and embossing them with the matching folder. Then I did the same with TH Holly, Mistletoe and Christmas Leaves Trio sets using some green cardstock.

I inked the the edges of all with distress inks and then cloured the middles with Pan Pastels and then added a few drops of Glossy Accents to each flower centre and sprinkled over TL frost flakes to give a nice central sparkle.

All were fixed into place of the wreath with Pinflair gel, the leaves tucked in behind here and there and a lovely flouncy double bow and buckle using EA ribbons and bow maker.

Thanks you for taking the time to take a look today.

A just because card by Brenda

I think we all have days when we feel like making a 'just because' card and this is one of those.

The TL Heather Fairy had been sitting on my desk cut out for a few days ready to try out some new stick and spray with EA glitter, I found the spray worked very well so a card was in order.

I mounted the fairy onto matted ovals cut with TL essential ovals and some white and dark brown glittery DP and using the same DP and TL Victoria border a bottom panel placed over a background embossed with TL Rose Bunch. Finally TL With Love sentiment, some ribbon, a bow made on the EA bow maker and pearl buckle. It's a fairly simple card but useful for so many occasions.

Have a lovely day.

Book card for Stamping Sensations by Brenda and £50 Tattered Lace voucher to be won

This month Tattered Lace are sponsoring Stamping Sensations with a fabulous £50 voucher so of course I wanted to use lots of TL dies on my DT piece. The theme this month is anything goes with a stamp and a die and we would love you to join in so you have a chance of winning the fab shopping voucher from Tattered Lace.

I am really liking the recently released TL book card die set and used that as my card base. After cutting tree graduating dies starting with the largest I covered each with G45 papers which have a real summery feel. The floral panel is a Penny Black stamp inked with  DI's ad matted with TL essential oval dies. The sentiment is also Penny Black and stamped on to the ribbon banner which is part of the TL bok die set, I really like this little die and have used it so much.

The daisies are from TL Blossoms set and I added glitter to them and curled the petals up and also added some leaves using TK leaf branches. The Butterfly is one of three in the TL Butterflies set and also has a liberal amount of glitter and finally a rather OTT organza bow made on the EA bow maker and a gemstone ribbon slide.

Thank you all for taking a peek at today's card and if you would like a chance of winning the fab £50 TL voucher please do pop over to Stamping Sensations challenge blog to see what you need to do to join in.

Baby's first Christmas by Brenda

Hello to you all, I hope things are good in your part of the world.

Today I have a card using the new Charisma characters, they follow the same format as the flowers, a CD Rom with a variety of coloured images, backing papers and a matching die. This one of the cutest of Bunnies and I though he would make a great Christmas card for a little one.

The card base is the largest die in the TL Essential Large Rectangles set, I really like the shape you get by folding it in half, it's a nice shape left that way but looks equally pretty by adding a smaller layer as I have done here using TL Essential Decorative Rectangles.

The blue paper is one of those on the CD Rom and has been matted and layered onto silver mirri card and the Bunny added, along with TL Christmas Washing line lights, some bells and silver cord. The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with the banner from TL Essential Book set, it's such a useful part of the set which I use over and again.

Thanks you so much for popping in, have a gr eat day.

Pop up Box Tutorial by Amanda

$

Hiya, today I have something quite different for you as I have made a Tattered Lace Pop Up Box Card plus, just as an aside, I have also shown you how to make the Windmill that is included in the die set.

I have to be honest when Tattered Lace sent to me this die set I was rather daunted as I have never made anything like this before. However I did a little research and then I dove straight on in without even so much as a practice run! LOL!

Turns out its pretty easy, and it makes you look super clever! LOL. Just a couple little tricks and its even simpler. I noticed when I was doing my research that a lot of people seem to struggle when attaching the little "struts" across their box. However pure mechanics dictates that if you allow the box to do the work you cannot fail but to get these pieces in the right place and by doing it this way its super simple too! So double bonus!

So have a watch of the video to see how you construct one of these pop-up box cards, plus I continued and fully decorated it to so you have a full project video as well. Finally I was asked by Tattered Lace to demonstrate how to make the Windmill that came in the pop-up box die set so you will find that in the video as well. In fact it ended up being the whole inspiration for the decoration on my pop-up box card!

Here is my Tattered Lace Pop Up Box Card video: –

Well I hope you liked the card as you can see I did make one little error - I should have put the front sticker over to the left instead of to the right and if I done that it would have still fitted easily into a 6" x 6" box envelope. In fact these cards are designed to fit in a regular 6" x 6" envelope as long as your decoration is not too 3-D or outside the parameters of the 6" x 6" envelope.

Here are some photos of the finished card: –

So that is it for today I hope you have enjoyed this video and liked the finished card.
But for now hugs and have a great craft day,

Mary and fancy fold tutorial by Brenda

$

Hello Peeps, I thought I would share a card using the new Mary die, she is absolutely beautiful and has a definite feel of Victoriana about her.

I made a base card from brown cardstock, I have no idea of the name of this fold, it is one I came up with after seeing something similar on TV and did a tutorial which I will add further down this post. It does take a little time to measure and cut the layers but is quite a pleasing shape............I am secretly hoping that Stephanie will come up with a set of dies to make it so much easier !!

After creating the case card I used some coordinating neutral DP's for the matting inking the edges to add definition. I cut TL Mary from the same papers and fixed her to the the centre panel. Using the middle sized die from TL Rebecca Trio I cut eight flowers and again inked the edged and layered them up to make four flowers and added little gold gems to the centres. The brown leaves are cut and embossing using TL Sophie Trio and arrange around Mary.

I added a bow make on the EA bow maker and two TL Butterflies with a little glitter and gems added.

Here is the tutorial, I hope you can follow it OK, please do ask if you need any further help.

Start with a piece of A4 cardstock and trim about 1/2 cm from the widest section so you are left with a piece measuring 29cm x 21cm

Score two 4.95cm sections both sides which will leave you with a 10cm centre panel - scoring slightly under 5cm allows sufficient room for the folds themselves.

You should then have a piece of card which folds back on itself like this

Next measure 4.75 from the top down the two inner folds, Make a pencil mark at the very center of the card and  score diagonally from that point and the top of the left and right folds so they meet centrally at the bottom of the 4.75 measurement. Then gently ease mountain and valley folds into place as shown below and the whole card will fold back on itself

Thank you for visiting the Tattered Lace blog today.

Time for tea by Brenda

How is everyone doing, well I hope.

Today's card uses some of the new TL Nursery Rhyme dies. I took the colour palette from the DP's which are a nice green with hints of purple running through so cut the teapot and teacups from some matching glitter card.

The TL Shutter card is cut from 350gsm line cardstock, purple card for the first layer and then the green DP. All of the TL kinetic cards are so quick and easy to make and are a doddle compared with how I used to make them with a scoreboard when invariably the folds were never quite in the right place and always took forever.

The TL sentiment is cut from the same glitter card and added to the central section, a little teacup in each corner  and some flowers using TL Blossoms on two of the panels, ribbon down both edges and a flouncy bow made on the EA Bow Maker.

Have a lovely day.
